British Arts Festivals Association
BAFA supports the UK arts festivals sector through in-person conferences and online events, including its annual Conference for Festivals (November), and its student conference, A Festival Career. A wide range of festivals, events, universities and organisations are members of BAFA, from BBC Proms to Ventnor Fringe, Camarthen Bay Film Festival to Edinburgh Napier University. BAFA members benefit from 1:1 advice, peer networking and support, a range of bespoke member discounts and being part of the UK’s longest established festivals network. BAFA represents the sector through a range of strategic partnerships across the UK and leads on sector research and lobbying, including the UK-wide Festivals Mean Business research project and its current four year PhD on arts festivals. This collaborative doctoral award is funded by M4C and run in partnership with Birmingham City University. The results from Festivals Mean Business, being undertaken by BOP Consulting, will be launched in September 2024.
