Environmental & Assessor Training

Hosted by Edinburgh Napier University, AGF's industry leading 2 day environmental assessor training will run on 21st & 22nd September 2023. The training focuses on the key operational issues that impact the environment and is designed to equip students with all the skills and knowledge of environmental operations and sustainability at events. The course which is Stage 1 of AGF’s Assessor Training also provides the opportunity to move to Stage 2 which focuses on the practical application of the knowledge and skills to become a fully qualified A Greener Future assessor, able to undertake environmental assessment of events, festivals, and venues worldwide. The training is also very relevant for those who want to work in event sustainability or to improve understanding, including event organisers, local authorities, suppliers, academics and researchers as well as those who are passionate about developing their skills in event sustainability.

International Festival Forum (IFF)

The International Festival Forum (IFF) presented its eighth edition in 2022. Since launching in 2015, it has become the leading annual meeting place for the world’s top booking agencies and the cream of the international festival business. IFF sees the industry’s principal buyers and sellers come together for 2.5 days of networking, showcases, and conference sessions. The invitation-only event takes place in the autumn, just as conversations about the following year’s festival line-ups are well underway. IFF provides a dedicated platform for buyers and sellers to network. IFF’s partner agencies showcase the hottest new festival-ready artists from their roster, while a programme of panels, workshops and keynote interviews allow leaders and innovators in the music festival space to share knowledge and best practice. IFF has a deliberately focused make-up of delegates. Attendance is restricted to festivals above 10,000-capacity per day, and key booking agencies. All previous editions of IFF have sold out several weeks in advance.

The event industry’s reliance on data to help it plan for the future, increase its resilience, manage risk and justify investment decisions, is growing year on year.

The engagement and access that The Power of Events (UK) has across all 7 sectors of the industry, enables data gathering and in-depth research projects to be delivered confidently and consistently. This will be primarily facilitated through the new insight app to be launched on 28th Sep 2023.

By bringing the industry and university partners together, research projects will be designed to deliver real benefits to the industry in terms of trend analysis, insights and performance improvements.
